Law Clerk – Commercial & Construction Litigation
Kelly Santini LLP has an exciting opportunity for a skilled and detailed-oriented Law Clerk to join the Litigation group with an emphasis in commercial, construction work. The successful candidate will possess knowledge of civil litigation procedures, an ability to manage competing deadlines and a proactive approach. Salary level is commensurate with experience and health benefits and pension matching are provided.

Duties & Responsibilities of the Role:
- Knowledge of Ontario’s Rules of Civil Procedure, Liens, and Construction Act.
- Draft, review, and file various legal documents, including pleadings, motions, affidavits, and discovery requests.
- Prepare documents, information, and correspondence for external counsel and both internal and external stakeholders.
- Managing of calendars, scheduling appointments and tracking deadlines; Ensure timely reminders and follow-up.
- Prepare and file materials with the court in alignment with case deadlines.
- Maintaining physical and electronic document system.
- Liaise with internal team, courts, opposing counsel, clients, and other third parties.
- Other duties as required to support the efficient functioning of the legal team.
Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
- Graduate of a relevant post-secondary program such as Law Clerk or Legal Administration
- 3+ years experience in commercial litigation, construction, bankruptcy and insolvency preferred
- Experience with electronic discovery and document management systems
- Takes initiative, able to prepare documents and correspondence with minimal supervision
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Able to work well both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Comfortable interacting with clients and other internal and external professionals on a regular basis
- Experience with GhostPractice, Adobe Pro, and Microsoft Office Suite of programs an asset
