An Associate in the firm’s Litigation Group, Emilia’s practice is focused on insurance defence, estate litigation, commercial, and general litigation. Combining her legal research and drafting expertise with her organizational and communication skills, Emilia works to achieve pragmatic, timely resolutions of property damage, bodily injury and subrogated insurance claims, as well as real and personal property disputes. She also acts on disputes over wills and trusts, executors, powers of attorney, guardianship, and other estate related conflicts.

Recognizing that each client and legal matter is unique, Emilia takes the time to work with the people behind the dispute so that she can diligently yet effectively represent their interests. Her health care background and training in advising patients helps her connect with clients with ease, and she strives to be “a calming presence amidst the storm” by providing them with regular updates on the progress of their file.

Fluent in English, French and conversational in Polish, Emilia brings to her law career extensive education and work experience, notably in administration and public health. During her legal studies, Emilia completed several internships and was extensively involved with Pro Bono Students Canada, the University of Ottawa Community Legal Clinic and the Canadian Journal of Women and the Law. She also served as a member of the Senior Editorial Board of the Ottawa Law Review. In her spare time, Emilia enjoys spending time with her family and two Siberian huskies, as well as gardening, foraging, biking, and exploring the waterways around the 1000 Islands.
