Always being fully prepared and having the ability to adapt at a moment’s notice to the changing course of a dispute are the hallmarks of Samantha’s insurance defence practice. In the seventeen years she has been defending MVA, slip & fall, property, major flood and fire claims, those attributes have helped Samantha build a reputation amongst insurers for her good judgment. Her tireless commitment keeps claims moving towards resolution and she is frequently mandated to negotiate settlements on behalf of her clients. Samantha also provides coverage opinions and acts on subrogated claims for insurers and mortgage enforcements for financial institutions.

In addition to her insurance defence practice, Samantha has been serving as a Deputy Judge of the Small Claims Court since 2019. In 2018, she was recognized for her professional achievements as one of Ottawa’s Top Forty under 40.

Whether she is presenting in a court room, negotiating with opposing counsel or updating a client, Samantha is always thinking about the best approach to communicating with her audience. Equally at ease in both English and French, Samantha has been using her power of persuasion since winning her first public speaking competition in grade 3! Since then, she has appeared on matters before the Small Claims Court, Provincial Offences Court, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Appeal. In 2012, she made her first appearance before the Supreme Court of Canada which resulted in unanimous verdict in her client’s favour.
