Real Estate Law Clerk

The Ottawa law office of Kelly Santini LLP is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Real Estate Clerk to join our team. The successful candidate will manage high volumes of residential and commercial real estate transactions, communicate effectively with clients and provide a range of administrative support with minimal direction. Specific Duties of the Role:

  • Manage 30+ residential and commercial real estate transactions monthly from file opening to final reporting.
  • Draft, review, and revise legal documents related to residential and commercial real estate transactions such as agreements of purchase and sale, deeds, mortgages, and transfers.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence including ordering and reviewing tax certificates, title, and off-title searches.
  • Supporting productivity of the practice through comprehensive legal administrative support including billing and AR collection, scheduling appointments and calendarizing deadlines.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing updates and responding promptly to inquiries.
  • Coordinate with real estate agents, lenders, and other parties to gather necessary information and documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years of work experience in law office in above referenced practice areas.
  • Confidence in knowledge of real estate transactions and relevant legal procedures.
  • Takes initiative, able to prepare documents and correspondence with minimal supervision.
  • Highly organized with ability to adapt quickly, prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Professional and client-focused approach to work.
  • High level of proficiency in software such as Unity, Teraview, Adobe Pro, Microsoft Office Suite and DocuSign.
  • Knowledge of Ghost Practice and NetDocuments will be considered an asset.
